Tripartite License Agreement

Livelihood Alternatives Pvt. Ltd., Odisha, entered into a Tripartite License Agreement with the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, and the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi, for the development and manufacture of the Saline Water Lantern (ROSHNI) technology.

ROSHNI harnesses electrochemical principles to generate power from saline water, a technology with transformative potential for India’s coastal regions. This innovation can power lanterns, lamps, and mobile chargers, promoting energy equity by making renewable energy sources accessible and affordable.

For Odisha, a coastal state, this technology offers significant opportunities to diversify the energy basket, create green jobs, and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative aligns with Livelihood Alternatives’ mission of leveraging innovation and entrepreneurship to uplift communities and generate additional income for those at the bottom of the pyramid.

This collaboration marks another step towards building sustainable and inclusive business models that drive economic and social progress.
