Strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations: Athagarh Farmers Chart Path for Sustainable Agri-Business Growth

Athagarh, often referred to as the vegetable basket of Cuttack, holds significant potential for scalable and sustainable agri-business development. Livelihood Alternatives (LA) and its partner FPC – Baba Dhabaleswar Green Vegetable Fed Farmer Producers Company – convened a meeting with farmer-shareholders and the Board of Directors (BoD) to strategize on strengthening the FPO. The discussion focused on increasing shareholder participation, business diversification, value addition, market expansion, and transforming the FPO into a growth engine for agriculture in the region.
