Prashant Biswal, a progressive farmer from Satyabadi Block of Puri District. He cultivates paddy and a wide variety of vegetables- including spine gourd, pointed gourd, chilli, cabbage, cauliflower, brinjal, tomato, and papaya- on his 2.87-acre farmland using natural farming practices.

With the support of Livelihood Alternatives (LA) and PACE Foundation, and technical facilitation by Ambrionics- a start-up incubated at IRMA-iSEED- a pot drip irrigation system has been successfully installed on his farm.

This marks the first installation of its kind in the region, setting a pioneering example for water-efficient farming practices and also this is in the nature of demonstration unit- where by farmers are encouraged to adopt such innovations in their farm-related activities.

This technology is a low-cost substitute for high-cost poly-houses.It ensures better soil moisture retention during summer, prevents water logging during the rainy season, enables optimal nutrient usage, enhances climate resilience, saves time, and reduces labour costs.

Livelihood Alternatives remains committed to introducing innovative and context-appropriate technologies for farmers, with the aim of improving productivity, sustainability, and livelihood.
