Livelihood Alternatives’ partner FPC, Maa Bayani FPCL of Chhendipada Block, Angul successfully launched its mandi for arhar (Toor Dal) procurement — the first of its kind in the district. This landmark initiative aims to ensure that farmers receive fair and remunerative prices for their produce, aligned with the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹80 per kg declared by the government. By facilitating procurement at MSP, the mandi will play a crucial role in preventing distress sales and strengthening farmers’ income security.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the CDAO, Scheme Officer, and district officials from the Agriculture Department marking a significant step toward strengthening agricultural marketing infrastructure in the region.
