
As part of Cooperative Week 2026, Livelihood Alternatives facilitated a farmer’s workshop anchored by NAFED. The event was held at GM University, Sambalpur in collaboration with the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Centre for Public Policy.
The event brought together over 100 farmers from Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, and Jharsuguda, along with FPOs and cooperative representatives, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue and awareness on various government schemes, cooperative initiatives, and the Price Support Scheme (PSS). The programme aimed to empower farmers and FPOs by improving access to better market opportunities, ensuring fair prices for their produce, and strengthening the cooperative ecosystem for sustainable agricultural growth.
The event was graced by Prof. Byomakesh Tripathy, VC GM University as Chief Guest and he delivered the key note address.
Anindita Guha (State head, NAFED), Partha Sarathi Mallick (Chairman pg council), Bijendra Mohanty (Secretary MARFED), and Laxmidhar Rout (DRCS, Sambalpur), whose presence added immense value to the programme.
