International Women's Day Celebration at Bamra, Sambalpur: A Step towards Women’s Empowerment

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Team Livelihood Alternatives (LA), in collaboration with Laharanga LA FED FPCL, Bamra, Sambalpur, organized a vibrant and engaging celebration that brought together members of Bandana Self-Help Group (SHG), Bamra Block, and the Farmer Producer Company (FPC). The event was a testament to the collective strength and enthusiasm of rural women, highlighting their contributions to community development and sustainable livelihoods.

A Day of Celebration and Camaraderie

The Women’s Day celebration was filled with energy, creativity, and teamwork, as participants enthusiastically took part in various activities. From the artistic expression of Rangoli to the thrill of musical chairs and other engaging games, the event created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. These activities were not just recreational but also fostered a sense of unity, empowerment, and self-confidence among the women present.

Building Synergy between SHGs and FPCs for Economic Growth

Looking beyond the celebration, Livelihood Alternatives has envisioned a long-term intervention aimed at strengthening the economic synergy between SHGs and FPCs. Recognizing the potential of these two community-driven institutions, we are working towards an integrated economic model that will enable women to actively participate in income-generating activities, enhance their financial independence, and contribute to rural economic development.

By aligning the efforts of SHGs and FPCs, we aim to:

  • Create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women.

  • Improve access to markets, resources, and training.

  • Foster entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.

  • Enhance collective bargaining power and economic resilience.

This initiative is a meaningful step towards women’s empowerment, ensuring that they not only celebrate their strength on this special day but also find pathways for long-term growth and prosperity.

At Livelihood Alternatives, we remain committed to promoting gender-inclusive development and empowering rural women through sustainable and impactful interventions.
