Seed production can be an important source of income for farmers. It will not only contribute to self- reliance, but will also help in augmenting income of agrarian households.
It is in this context, an exploratory workshop was organized by Livelihood Alternatives in association with International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics ICRISAT.
The focus was to onboard Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) and its members for seed production. Farmers, Directors and CEOs of FPCs participated in the deliberations to understand the various nuances associated with seed production and a roadmap was worked out.
