As part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 celebrations, NAFED Odisha hosted a one-day event at the Madhusudan Institute of Cooperative Management (MICM), Bhubaneswar, bringing together key stakeholders from across the cooperative ecosystem. Livelihood Alternatives (LA) was proud to participate as a partner in this meaningful initiative.
The event welcomed representatives from 25 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) across various blocks of Odisha, along with a Women Self-Help Group from Cuttack, to explore the transformative role of FPOs as cooperative institutions in building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable rural economies.
A major highlight was a vibrant ‘Nukkad Natak’ (street play) aimed at raising awareness about the Price Support Scheme (PSS) under the PM–AASHA initiative, which safeguards farmers by ensuring fair pricing for pulses and groundnuts and protecting them from distress sales.
